Ultra linear, neutral and very good sounding AV class headphone amplifier based on a dedicated ADSL chip - THS6012. Taking into account the requirements for this ADSL driver - an uneven frequency response of 3 dB at frequencies up to 140 MHz and a load of 25 Ohm, the characteristics of the chip are several tens of times higher than those required for the audio range.
High load capacity (from 16 Ohm), very solid characteristics, a good case, with heat dissipation directly to the board and a short path allow you to create a neutral amplifier for headphones of the Hi-Fi level.
The presence of a stabilized power supply on the amplifier board eliminates the need to assemble one, and also significantly reduces the possibility of interference with a relatively long connection when using a separate power supply.
This amplifier can be called an uncompromising solution for the sake of quality, and therefore, there are no blocking capacitors both at the input and in the feedback circuit. Also, there is no protection at the output, while the chip itself has a number of protections. In the event that the path (source + headphones) significantly exceeds the cost of the amplifier itself and in order to obtain full 100% security of the path, it is recommended to send a signal to this module through isolation capacitors, and connect the headphones through the protection module.
