JK-BMS Configuration Guide (B2A8S30P-HC)

This guide is based on the parameters for a 4S LiFePO4 system with a 314Ah capacity. Please be careful: incorrect settings may damage the battery cells.

1. Basic Settings

Parameter Value & Recommendation
Cell Count 4. Number of cells connected in series (for 12.8V system).
Battery Capacity 314 Ah. Set your actual battery capacity for accurate SOC (State of Charge) calculation.
Balance Trig. Volt 0.010 V. The balancer activates when the voltage difference between cells exceeds 10mV.

2. Voltage Protection Settings

Cell OVP / OVPR Protection: 3.600V / Recovery: 3.500V. Safe upper limit for LiFePO4 cells.
Start Balance Volt 3.40 V. Balancing starts only during the end of the charging phase for better efficiency.
SOC 100% / 0% Volt 100% = 3.550V / 0% = 2.900V. Voltage reference points used to calibrate the fuel gauge.
Cell UVP / UVPR Protection: 2.800V / Recovery: 3.000V. Low voltage discharge protection.
Power Off / Smart Sleep 2.700V / 2.500V. Critical levels where the BMS shuts down to prevent self-discharge damage.

3. Current & Protection Settings

  • Max Balance Curr: 2.0 A. High-power active balancing for 314Ah+ cells.
  • Continued Charge Curr: 150.0 A. Maximum allowable current from the charger.
  • Continued Discharge Curr: 300.0 A. Maximum continuous load for your inverter.
  • SCP Delay (Short Circuit): 5 µs. Ultra-fast short-circuit response for hardware safety.

4. Temperature Protection

Charge UTP (Low Temp) 5.0 °C. Prevents charging LiFePO4 cells in freezing conditions.
MOS OTP 75.0 °C. Protects the internal BMS power MOSFETs from overheating.
Discharge UTP -5.0 °C. Lowest allowable temperature for discharging the battery.

5. Balance Wire Resistance (Con. Wire Res.)

This section (Con. Wire Res. 01-08) shows the internal resistance of the wires from the BMS to each cell. 

Recommendation: All values should be close to 0.00 mΩ or identical. If any value exceeds 10-15 mΩ, check the terminal connections for tightness or oxidation.

* After changing any parameter, you must press the "OK" button next to it to save the settings to the BMS memory.
