Instructions for connecting a DC-DC 12V 25-30A charger

USER MANUAL

DC-DC Battery Charger (Booster) 12V-12V

Models: В2В1230 (30A) / B2B1260 (60A)

1. General Description

This intelligent device is designed for efficient and correct charging of an auxiliary (service) battery directly from the vehicle's onboard network while driving. It compensates for voltage drops in long cables and provides an optimal charging profile to extend battery life.

  • Compatibility: All types of lead-acid (WET, AGM, GEL) and lithium (LiFePO4, Li-ion) batteries.
  • Intelligence: Multi-stage charging cycle (Bulk, Absorption, Float).
  • Safety: Built-in protection against overheating, overload, and short circuits.

2. Safety Precautions

WARNING! Failure to observe polarity or using cables with a too small cross-section may lead to fire. Use fuses strictly according to the specifications.

3. Technical Specifications and Connection

3.1. Recommended Cables and Fuses

Model Cable Length Cross-section (mm²) Fuse
B2B1230 (30A)0.5 - 2.5 m6 mm²40-50 A
2.5 - 4.0 m10 mm²50 A
B2B1260 (60A)0.5 - 2.0 m10 mm²80 A
2.0 - 5.0 m16-25 mm²100 A

3.2. Control Terminals Purpose

TT Temperature Sensor: Connects to the negative terminal of the service battery. Adjusts voltage based on temperature (for lead-acid) or stops charging at 0°C (for LiFePO4).
Ss- / Ss+ Voltage Sensors: Used for precise voltage measurement directly at the battery terminals, ignoring losses on power wires.
D+ Activation Signal: Connect to the alternator D+ terminal or to the ignition (+15). The device will only operate when the engine is running.

4. Battery Type Selection (DIP Switches)

Configuration is performed using switches 2, 3, and 4 on the front panel:

Battery Type S2 S3 S4 Boost / Float (V)
