Instructions for connecting a DC-DC 12V 25-30A charger
USER MANUAL
DC-DC Battery Charger (Booster) 12V-12V
Models: В2В1230 (30A) / B2B1260 (60A)
1. General Description
This intelligent device is designed for efficient and correct charging of an auxiliary (service) battery directly from the vehicle's onboard network while driving. It compensates for voltage drops in long cables and provides an optimal charging profile to extend battery life.
- Compatibility: All types of lead-acid (WET, AGM, GEL) and lithium (LiFePO4, Li-ion) batteries.
- Intelligence: Multi-stage charging cycle (Bulk, Absorption, Float).
- Safety: Built-in protection against overheating, overload, and short circuits.
2. Safety Precautions
WARNING! Failure to observe polarity or using cables with a too small cross-section may lead to fire. Use fuses strictly according to the specifications.
3. Technical Specifications and Connection
3.1. Recommended Cables and Fuses
| Model | Cable Length | Cross-section (mm²) | Fuse |
|---|---|---|---|
| B2B1230 (30A) | 0.5 - 2.5 m | 6 mm² | 40-50 A |
| 2.5 - 4.0 m | 10 mm² | 50 A | |
| B2B1260 (60A) | 0.5 - 2.0 m | 10 mm² | 80 A |
| 2.0 - 5.0 m | 16-25 mm² | 100 A |
3.2. Control Terminals Purpose
| TT | Temperature Sensor: Connects to the negative terminal of the service battery. Adjusts voltage based on temperature (for lead-acid) or stops charging at 0°C (for LiFePO4). |
| Ss- / Ss+ | Voltage Sensors: Used for precise voltage measurement directly at the battery terminals, ignoring losses on power wires. |
| D+ | Activation Signal: Connect to the alternator D+ terminal or to the ignition (+15). The device will only operate when the engine is running. |
4. Battery Type Selection (DIP Switches)
Configuration is performed using switches 2, 3, and 4 on the front panel:
| Battery Type | S2 | S3 | S4 | Boost / Float (V) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| GEL | OFF | OFF | OFF | 14.3 / 13.8 |
| Sealed (Maintenance-free) | ON | OFF | OFF | 14.4 / 13.5 |
| Flooded (Wet) | OFF | ON | OFF | 14.7 / 13.5 |
| LiFePO4 | ON | ON | OFF | 14.6 / 13.8 |
| Li-ion (NCM) | OFF | OFF | ON | 12.6 / 12.5 |
5. LED Indication and Troubleshooting
| Indicator | Status | Description |
|---|---|---|
| L1 (Bord I) Output Status |
Flashes slowly | Voltage normal |
| Flashes fast | Error: Overvoltage | |
| Steady light | Error: Battery deep discharge | |
| L2 (Full) | Steady light | Battery fully charged (100%) |
| L3 (Charge) | Steady light | Active charging in progress |
| Flashes | Protection: Device or battery overheating | |
| L4 (Start II) Input Voltage |
Steady light | Starter battery voltage > 11.0V |
| Flashes | Starter voltage low, charging stopped |
Note: If all indicators flash simultaneously, it indicates an incorrect DIP switch setting.
